报告摘要:
Polymer nanocomposites based on inorganic layered compounds have been intensively investigated and exhibited promising performance. Typically, the capability to control the structure and morphology of nanoplatelets is the key to achieve desired properties. A vast majority of researches in this field have been based on natural layered compounds (such as montmorillonite), which only allows limited manipulations of their structure and morphology. In this study, a series of synthetic layered compounds, α-zirconium phosphate (α-ZrP) and its derivatives, were designed and synthesized. The synthetic nature of α-ZrP and its rich chemistry open the door for versatile structure, dimension, and functionality tailoring. A series of polymer nanocomposites with varying nanoplatelets dispersion levels, aspect ratios, and interface compatibilities were prepared. Such model nanocomposites also served as ideal candidates for structure-property relationship studies. The implication of the findings is discussed.
